Each dog goes to their new home after being vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped. Any dog over the age of 5 months has also been spayed/neutered. All dogs over the age of 6 months have also been heartworm tested.
All adopters will receive a medical history and be made aware of any behaviour problems and any known history from before the dog came to us.
Person must be 20 years old to adopt a dog.
You will hear from us within one week of us receiving your application if you are selected for a phone interview and to set up a time for a meet and greet. If you do not hear from us after one week of filling out the application then you were not chosen as this pets forever home. PAWS-UNITED RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADOPTION TO ANYONE.
It is highly recommended that all family members meet the new pet before adopting to be sure there are no allergies and to make sure everyone gets along. If this is a second dog, please have your pet with you for the meet and greet.
There is a required adoption fee for each dog adopted out through Paws-United. All dogs have received initial vaccines (please note that dogs under 4 months of age have not received their rabies vaccination and no dog has received bordetella vaccine, or leptospirosis vaccine). All dogs have been microchipped. All dogs over 6 months of age have also been spayed/neutered and heartworm tested.
Adoption fees are as follows, but may be subject to change depending on the individual dog. Fees may also be changed without notice. These fees are based on a normal adoption, but are not guaranteed to be so for the dog you are adopting. This is the base at which each adoption fee starts at. As we are a not for profit organization, these fees go toward all vet care put into the dog.

Leon- 6 yr old Neopolitan Mastiff. This guy is a super sweet gentle giant. He hasn't had the greatest past as he has suffered quite a bit of medical issues that have gone unchecked until now. He had double cherry eye, which has recently been removed, he was used as a stud male, and has been neutered, he also suffers from bad arthritis in his back legs and knees. He has lived outside his whole life on a cement pad, so we assume most of his issues are from not being taken care of properly. He also has some skin issues, which will require proper diet (no wheat, no corn, no grain). Leon is very playful still despite his arthritis, which we are managing with omega 3 pills and fish oils. When he gets a bit older he may need pain meds for some days. He is great on his leash, and good with food, does not guard anything. However due to his lack of exposure at a young age we do ask that he not go to a home with young kids, as he gets frightened easy, he also takes a bit to warm up to strangers. He does better with women then men, but once he trusts you he is glued to your side! He loves his toys, and his chewy bones, and comfy beds. Leon can't do stairs very well because of his arthritis so a home with no stairs is also preferable. He is great with cats and lives with a few in his current foster home. He is not great with other dogs as he gets very protective with his people. And he doesn't like them in his face. He loves treats, however he does not know a lot of basic commands. Leon also has a bit of separation anxiety which is common in the breed. He would like a nice home with a family that will love him and spend lots of time with him! Leon has been vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, treated with Advantage, neutered, heart worm tested and vet checked. As well he has also had a double cherry eye removal, skin scrapings, and is currently on a grain free diet. If you think you could open your home to this big giant please apply today to see if you could be his perfect match!

8 month old male Boxer x
Clemons is stealing hearts with his big happy face and affectionate personality. As will most young boxers he is full of beans and still learning it is not ok to jump up when excited. He responds well to correction and is quickly learning vocal commands and hand signals. Being young he will still need repetiveness in his training but he picks things up quickly and is eager to please, food and affection motivated. He loves attention and handles well. He has shown no signs of food or resource gaurding with people or dogs. He LOVES to chase a ball or a stick and loves to run full speed. He does well in the car and responds to basic commands such as come, sit, off and lay down. Clemons is doing great with crate training and house breaking. He's a happy playful boy and is good with dogs and cats.
Clemons has been microchiped, neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated with advantage multi.

1yr old shep/chow mix.
This girl is a sweet heart. She is very sweet and loves all people. She is good with other dogs, house trained and working on crate training. She came from a place that she was always tied up so she is doing much better at becoming a house pet and learning how to walk on the leash and enjoy the pampered life. We are looking for a patient home that is willing to work on her training as she has not had any previously. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, vet checked, heart worm tested, and treated with advantage multi.
